Our cheese is handmade at our creamery based at the historic Pikehall Farm, using milk from the beautiful Derbyshire Dales. We are proudly the smallest Stilton producer using original artisan techniques, for our deliciously creamy range of cheese that includes PDO protected Blue Stilton & White Stilton, Dovedale Blue and the original ancient recipe Sage Derby and Traditional Derby cheese.

At the 2026 International Cheese & Dairy Awards, Hartington Creamery brought home Gold for Hartington Blue Stilton, Gold for Hartington White Stilton and Silver for Hartington Red Derby.
Our Blue Stilton was also awarded Best Whole Blue Stilton and crowned Blue Stilton Champion at this year’s awards.

I buy of lot of their cheese from the Chatsworth Farm Shop, Hartington Cheese Shop and also direct via their website.
My last order arrived about 10 days ago and I was disappointed to find the three Peakland White cheeses all had a use by date that was the day I received them. My White Stilton only had a few days left and the other cheese was dated well into August. I know they can be frozen, but somehow they are never quite as good after freezing, so I would prefer to buy less, more often.
Things like this happen occasionally, so I was not too concerned, but did decide to contact Hartington Creamery. This is where I became very disappointed.
First of all I tried to phone customer services. However, it does not matter what time or day you call them, you just get a message saying they are closed.
I then sent a polite and friendly email, which has been completely ignored. Finally I called the trade order number and someone did answer. Despite sounding very uninterested in my call they did say they would look into it, but yes, you've guessed it, I've still not had a reply and customer services is still closed.
The cheese is amazing and I will continue to buy it, but sadly not direct from Hartington Creamery.

Hartington Creamery did contact me and also sent a replacement order. This is much appreciated and certainly some faith is restored! Thank you.

Tried the Chocolate & Chilli Cheese from Hartington Creamery and it was absolutely stunning. The texture was smooth, the balance between chocolate, cheese, and that gentle chilli warmth was spot on. Gave it as a twist on Easter gifts this year and it went down a treat. A real favourite now. Delivery was prompt and packaging lovely – brilliant service all round. Highly recommend!
